JES Volunteer Day with Voluntary Action Center

JES employees prepare to volunteer for the Voluntary Action Center’s annual holiday program.

As part of JES’s annual United Way Week, JES employees volunteered for the Voluntary Action Center (VAC). The VAC is a nonprofit social service agency that is funded by Columbia’s United Way. VAC’s mission is to help improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in Boone County.

JES employees volunteered at Trinity Presbyterian Church for the VAC’s 33rd annual holiday program. This program gives qualifying families an opportunity to create a wish list of their wants and needs. Local businesses, church groups and families then sponsor families and gift them with what they need. JES employees were responsible for organizing and handing out these gifts to the 943 families the program served this year.
