At the JES Holdings Employee Recognition Luncheon, AEP Asset Management Data Analyst Becky Wiles received the 2016 Michelle Sharp Outstanding Achievement Award. This annual award is dedicated to Michelle Sharp, an AEP asset manager that passed away in 2008. Sharp’s husband was afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis, and Sharp was very active in raising awareness of this genetic disorder. To honor Sharp’s legacy, this award is presented to a deserving individual who exemplifies strong leadership qualities and dedication. This person is chosen by directors and nominated by fellow employees.
“I was flabbergasted to receive the award this year. It really showed me that all of the hard work and relationships that you build at work really matter and that people take notice,” Wiles said.
Not only was Wiles excited about receiving the award, but she was also honored that her mentor, AEP Director of Transactions Christie Haynes, was the one to present it to her. “Christie giving me the award made receiving it even better. Christie has been my mentor ever since I started working here. She is not only great professionally, but she also gives me guidance in all aspects of my life,” Wiles said.
Throughout her career at JES Holdings, Wiles has truly exemplified the characteristics of strong leadership and dedication that the Michelle Sharp Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes.
