In honor of Michelle Sharp, a dedicated employee of AEP, this award was created in 2008 to recognize a deserving individual, nominated by employees and chosen by directors, who exemplify strong leadership qualities and dedication.
At the Employee Recognition and Staff Meeting, held on Thursday, December 17, 2015, Christie Haynes presented the annual award as a tribute to her dear friend and fellow employee.
Erika Ezzell was announced as the 2015 recipient. Erika is the RN Admissions Coordinator at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Erika loves her job because it allows her to fulfill her true passion of serving senior members of the community. She relishes the amazing stories she hears from her senior residents and recognizes the value in what they can teach the younger generation. In winning the Michelle Sharp Award, Erika says she is, “humbled to know that my peers see the hard work and dedication I put into the community at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center.”
Steve Bunch, Capital Health Management Vice President of Operations, says “Erika’s leadership exemplifies how to be a better employee, friend, mother and overall person. Her unfazed determination, positive attitude and compassion are qualities and behaviors exhibited by exceptional leaders.”
