The Village of Bedford Walk, an independent senior living community, recently opened in Columbia, Missouri. The community promotes active senior living where residents can live life their way.
Activities Coordinator Laura Roeder planned a Cruise Week themed event allowing residents to meet their new neighbors, the staff and their community. Each day had a different theme where residents traveled to the Caribbean, Mexico, France, the Mediterranean and Italy.
“We tailored the food, activities, music and more to allow residents to experience the culture of a new place,” Roeder explained. Activities included a paper boat launch, Latin ballroom dance lessons, water aerobics, Greek Mythology trivia, bocce ball, happy hours and a formal Captain’s Dinner. The event was a great success and residents are already looking forward to the now annual event in 2017
