Jeffrey E. Smith, President of JES Holdings, is a longtime supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia. BGCC‘s mission is to provide a safe and educational place for youth to grow and learn. Recently, employees participated with the clubs annual Farm Day. The Farm Day event allows children of the program an opportunity to spend time outdoors and participate in many activities. This year, Farm Day included fishing, an obstacle course, ATV rides, a slip ‘n slide, a dunking booth, archery, face painting, a barbeque and fish fry lunch, a snow cone truck, and more.

In every community, an increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. The JES Holdings employees had the opportunity to drive ATVs, run activity booths and allow children who need us most to know that someone cares about them.

This year was JES Holdings Marketing Intern Jacob Renie’s first year volunteering at Farm Day. “My favorite part was just playing with the kids. I liked how we could interact and talk to the kids and see how much fun they were having,” Renie said.

The constant smiles on all of the children’s faces throughout the day made it clear that this year’s Farm Day, like all of the others, can be classified as a success.
