On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, a group of JES Holdings employees attended the annual MFA Oil Hoops for a Cause benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia.
The Boys and Girls Club of Columbia has been in operation since 1977, giving children the safe place they may need after school and during the summer. They have three locations across Columbia and over 800 children in their program. During the event, Boys and Girls Club alum, Laurence Bowers, shared his story of how the program helped him not only through his younger years, but also through his college career.
“This event was very well put together and run. It was great to get to talk with Mizzou Basketball players and Club kids throughout the evening. I walked away having learned a few new dance moves from the kids which I’ll be sure to show off at the Holiday Party,” said Mark Bradshaw.
The event raised over $160,000 from donations and auction items with the help of their community!
