For Charmaine Calloway, her apartment at Longleaf Senior Village in Aiken, South Carolina, is not just an apartment; it is a home. “I could not have expected anything more. The quality of life is pleasant; it is serene. The village itself is very pretty, but the best thing about living at Longleaf Senior Village is that my home is low maintenance and affordable, especially for lower income seniors like me. I do not know how I would have been able to afford a typical apartment complex.”
After living in a bi-level house in Indiana and suffering from knee pain, Charmaine decided it was time to downsize. She was looking to live in a warmer state and wanted to find a simple, affordable place in a nice little town. It worked out so perfect, I could not believe it.”
Living with people her age in an open area makes Charmaine feel safe at Longleaf. “If I ever need help, the neighbors would be concerned.” Charmaine believes this is a perfect place for seniors because of the amenities, including the amount of space she has (especially in her closet) and all the natural light she gets from her many windows. “I just love everything about it. It feels like a home; a perfect home for me at my age.” Other amenities Charmaine enjoys at Longleaf include a clubhouse with fitness center, technology center, gathering areas and planned activities.
