The 9th annual Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival was held September 25-27, 2015 at Stephens Lake Park in Columbia, Missouri. The festival, which features a range from local to national musical acts as well as a plethora of BBQ from local and regional vendors, is one of Columbia’s biggest events every year. The Roots N’ Blues N’ BBQ Festival draws national attention, attracting thousands of people to the city.
Along with the music and food, the festival also appeals to many locals and travelers with its 10K and Half Marathon races on the second day of the event.
Among the 587 participants of the Half Marathon were Blair Jones, Kaitlin Roweton, Mark Bradshaw and Rachel Trujillo, all of the Marketing department at JES Holdings. The 13.1 mile race started at Stephens Lake Park and took runners through multiple trails, downtown Columbia and finally through the campus of the University of Missouri before returning to the park. At the finish line, runners were greeted with complimentary BBQ and drinks, as well as a finisher’s medal.
