The annual Rootin’ Tootin’ Chili Cookoff benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Columbia had its 13th annual cookoff on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Every year, companies from around Columbia compete to see who can make the best chili and raise the most money. JES Holdings has been competing in the cookoff for over 10 years!
This year, JES Holdings’ theme was based on the Jumanji movie. Costumes included the cast of the 1995 movie and a stampede of jungle animals. The booth transitioned from suburban household to jungle – all tied together with a floor patterned after the Jumanji board game. Our photo booth was a hit, with kids jumping at the chance to grab a photo with a gorilla or safari hunter!
The cookoff was a large success! In total, all of the companies raised over $110,000 to benefit the club. JES Holdings raised $5,700 of that total. We placed second for Best Booth, second for Best Costumes and third for Biggest Bowl (largest amount of money raised).
