JES Supports Breast Cancer Awareness

Employees from the Columbia, Missouri office

Every two minutes, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. Even men are susceptible, with an estimated 2,350 new cases of male breast cancer in 2015. Early cancer detection affords you more treatment options and a better chance of living a longer, healthier life. There are two and half million survivors  living in the United States today.

As part of the JES Holdings Wellness Initiative, employees were challenged to support breast cancer awareness by wearing pink to the office on Friday, October 23, 2015. For every employee that wore pink, JES pledged to donate $5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. As an added bonus, if over 50 people participated, JES would double their donation. The challenge was distributed in a wellness email along with information for better understanding risks and prevention methods for breast cancer. Senior Creative Specialist, Kait Roweton said, “It means so much to me that my company supports and educates employees on a disease as prevalent as breast cancer. Since the first time my mom was diagnosed in 2005, I have felt strongly that vigilant breast cancer detection is such an important part of conquering the disease.”

Twelve employees from the Atlanta office wore bright shades of blush, while the larger Columbia office had a showing of 42 coral-colored employees. With a total of 54 pink participants, JES Holdings  will donate $540 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
